Qatar Airways has unveiled a new Frequent Flyer lounge at Heathrow Terminal 4, as well as a dedicated Premium check-in area for business and first class customers.
The Frequent Flyer lounge – located below the carrier’s existing Premium lounge – has been open in its soft phase since the summer, but Qatar Airways is now actively promoting the facility.
The lounge is open to Oneworld Sapphire and Emerald cardholders, and equivalent status members within member carriers’ frequent flyer programmes (including of course Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club scheme).
Business and first class customers can also access the lounge, which is important as the Premium Lounge located above the new space is only open to revenue customers (ie: not those travelling on award tickets).
Guests are not allowed into the Premium Lounge, but one guest may enter the Frequent Flyer Lounge if they are accompanying a customer with eligible Oneworld status.
It is the first Qatar Airways Frequent Flyer lounge outside of the airline’s home at Doha airport.
The facility is located on level 2 opposite gate 6, and is open daily between 0500 and 2200.
The carrier has not provided many details about the space, other than to say that it “boasts modern interiors overlooking the tarmac”, and offers a menu “comprising of a hot and cold buffet selection and a range of beverages”.
In addition Qatar Airways has opened a new enclosed Premium Check-in Area for business and first class customers at Heathrow T4, which the carrier says invites travellers “to lounge in a haven of tranquillity with refreshing beverages while check-in formalities are completed”.
The airline currently operates five daily flights to and from London Heathrow.
