British Airways has retrofitted its new business class product, the Club Suite, on a B777.

The first B777 aircraft with the seat will operate from today between London Heathrow and New York JFK.

It will operate flight BA173, departing Heathrow at 1120, and BA112, departing JFK at 1830, until March 2020.

The airline said that “as and when” more aircraft are revamped they will go on its transatlantic services to New York, the most lucrative route in the world.

The new Club Suite cabin is in a 1:2:1 configuration with aisle access for all passengers.

The B777 cabin will run from rows 5 to 17.

The seat, a modified version of the Collins Aerospace Super Diamond, offers a fully-flat bed, sliding privacy door and an 18.5-inch Panasonic X3 in-flight entertainment system.

All of British Airways’ long-haul aircraft, apart from its B747s which are gradually being retired, will eventually get the Club Suite.

It debuted on BA’s new A350-1000, first on familiarisation flights to Madrid in August and then on an inaugural to Dubai.
